Dancehall artiste Chris Marshall is pleased with the reaction to his latest single, the sensual slow-burner 'Tu y Yo' alongside Brazilian singer-songwriter Anitta.

"Anitta is basically the biggest female in Latin music right now, this song will be on her new studio album 'Kisses', and this is an amazing song which is getting a big buzz on radio in the US, and I am expecting really great things in the future for this song," Chris Marshall said.

The song was released on April 5 2019 on the Warner Music Brazil label and has already generated 8.6 million views on YouTube since its release. The catchy Spanglish (a creative work with English and Spanish lyrics) song is the latest in a line of bilingual collaborations which fuse the musical styles of artistes to tap into the lucrative world of Latin music.

Chris is currently signed to independent label Rich Music Inc.

"The video already has 8 million streams on YouTube, averaging 2 million per week since its release, and 2.98 million streams on Spotify  has been added to rotation. My Spotify monthly listeners is almost 700k a month and the song is on the Brazil top 50 chart," an enthusiastic Chris Marshall said.

The artiste, whose real name is Adrian Christopher Marshall, was born and raised in St. Catherine, Jamaica. He grew up surrounded by music, from jamming at home with his family to exploring the country’s many dancehalls. Chris found himself influenced by Jamaica’s most recognisable artists like Richie Spice and Beres Hammond. His journey as a composer started when he got his own computer and began experimenting with beat making.

Chris Marsh finally achieved his first success with the track that would eventually go on to become one of the best chart-toppers of 2006. Sean Paul’s “Temperature” gave Chris the credibility needed to elevate his career as a hit-maker for the modern dancehall sound that was taking over the airwaves. The song also topped the Billboard Hot 100 Charts.

Over a decade later, Chris still puts forth the same amount of work and effort into everything he does.

"I just want to continue to create music that is true to the message from my humble beginnings and the passion behind dancehall music that is heard around the world," he said.
