International recording artiste Gyptian will be releasing his first album in the post-VP Records era of his career under his own Ryte Dyrekshan label.

"The album will drop at the end of this year, a Ryte Dyrekshan project, mostly in-house production, with producers such as Ricky Blaze, Yardstyle, Nuffa Dat, Silver Bird, and UIM, some of the singles are already released, but some will be exclusive to the project," Gyptian said.

The entertainer's contract with VP Records expired last year and was not renewed. Known for a string of international hits such as the Billboard-charting 'Hold Yu', the artiste's album is highly anticipated by his legion of fans.

"The fans have been making repeated requests via social media about the album so we know it is well anticipated," Gyptian said.

Some of the previously released singles that will be on the album include 'Look Good' produced by Ricky Blaze,  'Picture', a collaboration with Samantha J produced by Silver Bird Production label, and  'Cant Leave You Alone' on Ryte Dyrekshan label, released at the end of July, and which is available on all digital platforms. One of the exclusive singles will be a collaboration with international recording star Sean Paul which will be released on the Dutty Rock Production label.

Gyptian will head off to Europe next week for a string of performances across three countries.

"We will be going on a European tour next week where we will do shows in Sweden, Belgium and Netherlands," he said.

Over the weekend, Gyptian delivered a marquis performance in front of 7,000 patrons at the Summer Sizzle Festival at the Jamalco Sports Club in Halse Hall, Clarendon.

Dressed in a red track suit and a white t-shirt, he hit the stage at about 2:45 a.m. singing 'What a Policy', and the crowd responded with loud cheers and a cacophony of horns spanked the night air. He followed up that with powerful songs such as the classic 'Serious Times' and 'Beautiful Lady', and then showed the international flavour of his onstage performances with a trio of covers: a reggaefied version of Cyndi Lauper's 'True Colours', a gorgeously delivered cover version of Gregory Isaacs'  'Number One' and a soulful rendition of Bob Marley's 'Wait in Vain'. He also delivered his Billboard hit, 'Hold Yuh' to wild screams from the females. It was a devastating performance, one of the best of the event.

""I had a great time performing, it was a really good vibes, and it was nice to give my support to Beenie Man and the people of Clarendon, it had been a long time since I had performed in Jamaica," Gyptian said.

It was a rare performance on Jamaican soil for Gyptian, only his third performance during the last eight years.
